Cashew rises on fresh buying
Cashew prices rose by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today largely on pick up in buying activity, driven by firm domestic demand.
Tight stocks following restricted arrivals from growing regions also supported the upside in prices.
Cashew kernel No 180, No 210, No 240 and No 320 rose by Rs 5 to conclude at Rs 630-640, Rs 585-590, Rs 515-520 and Rs 450-475 per kg, respectively.
Market analysts said increased buying by retailers and stockists owing to domestic demand against tight stocks position mainly pushed up cashew prices.
Following are today's quotations in Rs per 40 kg:
Almond (California) Rs 10,300 Almond (gurbandi-new) Rs 5,000-5,300 almond (girdhi) Rs 2,700-2,900 and Abjosh Afghani Rs 7,000-20,000.
Almond kernel in per kg (California) Rs 380-385,almond kernel (gurbandi-new) (kg) Rs 340-410.
