Cashew prices remain up on brisk buying, tight supply
NEW DELHI, OCT 5:
Cashew prices rose further by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today largely influenced by brisk buying by retailers and stockists to meet rising demand following beginning of “Navratras” festival.
Tight supplies from growing regions also supported the upside in prices.Cashew kernel No 180, No 210, No 240 and No 320 rose by Rs 5 each to conclude at Rs 830-955, Rs 770-850 Rs 640-700 and Rs 585-650 per kg, respectively.
Marketmen said increased buying by retailers and stockists following festive season demand against tight supplies from growing regions, mainly pushed up cashew prices to rise on the wholesale dry fruit market here.
The following are today’s quotations (per 40 kg): Almond (California) Rs 17,300 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 8,300-8,700; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 4,900-5,400; Abjosh Afghani Rs 12,000-24,000.
Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 595-620 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 500-530 per kg.
