Cashew prices decline on sluggish demand
NEW DELHI: Cashew prices declined by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today owing to fall in demand from retailers and stockists.
Adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from producing centres also weighed on the cashew prices.
Cashew kernel (No 180, 210, 240 and 320) prices fell by Rs 5 each to settle at Rs 665-735, Rs 605-665, Rs 555-615 and Rs 575-585 per kg, respectively.
Marketmen said sluggish demand from retailers and stockists against sufficient stocks mainly put pressure on cashew kernel prices at the wholesale dry fruit market here.
The following are today's quotations (per 40 kg): Almond (California) Rs 12,800 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 6,400-6,800; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 3,000-3,200; Abjosh Afghani Rs 6,000-20,000.
Almond Kernel (California) Rs 440-450 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 320-400 per kg.
