Cashew prices rise on fresh buying

  • cashewnews_032NEW DELHI: Cashew prices rose by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today largely on pick-up in buying activity driven by firm domestic demand.

    Lower stocks following tight supplies from growing regions also supported the upside in prices.

    Cashew kernel No 180, No 210, No 240 and No 320 rose by Rs 5 to settle at Rs 595-610, Rs 545-565, Rs 515-525 and Rs 485-525 per kg, respectively.

    Marketmen said increased buying by retailers and stockists against tight stocks position, mainly pushed up cashew prices.

    The following are today's quotations (per 40 kg): Almond (California) Rs 11,100 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 6,000-6,200; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 3,100-3,200; Abjosh Afghani Rs 10,000-20,000.

    Almond Kernel (California) Rs 385-395 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 300-370 per kg.
