Cashew prices decline on sluggish demand
NEW DELHI: Cashew prices declined by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today owing to fall in demand from retailers and stockists.
Adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from producing belts also weighed on the cashew prices.
Cashew kernel (No 180, 210, 240 and 320) prices fell by Rs 5 each to settle at Rs 595-610, Rs 545-565, Rs 515-525 and Rs 485-525 per kg, respectively.
Marketmen said sluggish demand from retailers and stockists against adequate stocks mainly led to a decline in cashew kernel prices at the wholesale dry fruit market here.
The following are today's quotations (per 40 kg): Almond (California) Rs 11,000 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 6,000-6,200; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 3,100-3,200; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-18,000.
Almond Kernel (California) Rs 385-395 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 300-370 per kg.
