Cashew rises on fresh buying support

  • New Delhi, Mar 11 (PTI) Cashew prices rose by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today, largely on pick up in buying activity on firm domestic demand for the ongoing marriage season.

    Tight supplies from growing regions also supported the upside in prices.

    Cashew kernel No 180, No 210, No 240 and No 320 rose by Rs 5 to settle at Rs 635-645 Rs 600-610, Rs 535-545 and Rs 450-470 per kg, respectively.

    Market analysts said increased buying by retailers and stockists, triggered by marriage season mainly pushed up cashew prices.

    Following are today''s quotations in Rs per 40 kg:

    Almond (California) Rs 10,000 Almond (gurbandi-new) Rs 4,800-5,000 almond (girdhi) Rs 2,800-2,900 and Abjosh Afghani Rs 7,000-20,000.

    Almond kernel in per kg (California) Rs 350-360,almond kernel (gurbandi-new) (kg) Rs 325-425.
