Cashew declines on sluggish demand
Cashew prices eased by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today due to sluggish demand from retailers and stockists.
Sufficient stocks position following increased arrivals from producing belts too weighed on cashew prices.
Cashew kernel (No 180, 210, 240 and 230) prices fell by Rs 5 each to conclude at Rs 820-830, Rs 720-730, Rs 675-695 and Rs 565-575 per kg, respectively.
Marketmen said fall in demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks led to the fall in cashew kernel prices.
Following are today's quotations (per 40 kg):
Almond (California) Rs 20,300, Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 8,400-8,700; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 5,000-5,200; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-23,000.
Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 680-715 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 500-600 per kg.
