Cashew rises on buying support
NEW DELHI: Cashew prices rose by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today largely on the back of fresh buying by retailers and stockists amid low stocks.
Further, tight supplies from growing regions also supported the upside in prices.
Cashew kernel No 180, No 210, No 240 and No 320 rose by Rs 5 each to conclude at at Rs 885-905, Rs 785-805 Rs 655-665 and Rs 555-615 per kg, respectively.
Marketmen said increased buying by retailers and stockists against tight supplies from growing regions, mainly pushed up cashew prices to rise on the wholesale dry fruit market here.
The following are today's quotations (per 40 kg): Almond (California) Rs 16,900 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 8,000-8,300; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 4,000-4,300; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-25,000.
