Cashew prices rise on fresh buying

  • NEW DELHI: Cashew prices rose by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today, largely on the back of fresh buying by retailers and stockists due to 'Navratras' demand.
    Tight supplies from growing regions also supported the upside in prices.

    Cashew kernel No 180, No 210, No 240 and No 320 rose by Rs 5 each to conclude at at Rs 710-750, Rs 670-695, Rs 590-610 and Rs 510-560 per kg, respectively.
    Marketmen said increased buying by retailers and stockists to meet 'Navratras' festival demand, mainly pushed up pistachio prices in the wholesale dry fruit market here.
    The following are today's quotations (per 40 kg): Almond (California) Rs 13,000 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 7,200-7,600; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 3,200-3,400; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-20,000.
    Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 445-470 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 350-450 per kg.
