India: Cashew rises on buying support
New Delhi: Cashew prices rose by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today largely on the back of rising demand from retailers and stockists amid limited stocks.
Fall in supplies from growing regions also supported the upside in prices.
Cashew kernel No 180, No 210, No 240 and No 320 rose by Rs 5 each to conclude at at Rs 710-745, Rs 685-695, Rs 605-625 and Rs 535-575 per kg, respectively. Marketmen said besides increased buying by retailers and stockists, tight supplies from southern region also pushed up cashew prices.
The following are today's quotations (per 40 kg):
Almond (California) Rs 12,800 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 7,000-7,800; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 3,200-3,400; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-20,000.
Almond Kernel (California) Rs 450-470 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 350-425 per kg.
