Cashew prices up on firm demand
New Delhi - Cashew prices rose by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today on the back of firm demand from retailers and stockists.
Lower stocks following tight supplies from growing regions also supported the upside in prices.
Cashew kernel No 180, No 210, No 240 and No 320 rose by Rs 5 each to conclude at Rs 630-650, Rs 570-590, Rs 540-580 and Rs 510-550 per kg, respectively.
Marketmen said firm demand from retailers and stockists to meet marriage season demand against tight stocks position, mainly pushed up cashew prices.
The following are today's quotations (per 40 kg):
- Almond (California) Rs 10,800 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 6,000-6,200; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 3,100-3,200; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-18,000.
- Almond Kernel (California) Rs 385-390 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 300-380 per kg.
- Chilgoza (Roasted) (1 kg) Rs 1,350-1,450
- Cashew Kernel 1 kg (no 180) Rs 630-650
